Raven Williams ~ Fantasy Author
1) Tell us about yourself! When did you start writing? Why? Who inspired you?
I started writing in 2010, mostly poetry and the like. I published my first non-fiction books in 2013. I had also started a paranormal novel, but was unable to finish it due to the computer crashing before I could back up my docs. I’m hoping to get it off that computer one day and finish it.
My biggest inspiration is Tolkien, especially after Peter Jackson beautifully recreated the stories into moves. Whenever I watch the movies, I’m inspired to write my fantasy tales.
2) What is your newest release? Tell us about it.
My next release is September 25th and is the third book in my Realm Jumper Chronicles: Elven-Fire. It continues the story of the war between Dark and Light as well as focuses closely on two characters, Arlondyn, and Earth Elf, and Elemence, a Phoenix-shifter.
3. What is the hardest thing about writing?
It depends on what day it is and the mood of my characters. Some days, I have trouble creating the dialogue between them. Other days, it’s being descriptive and finding the right balance between too little to too much.
4. What is the easiest thing about writing?
I love writing, so making the time to do so is the easiest thing for me. I have to write some every day, even if it is only a couple hundred words. To not write, for me, is akin to not breathing.
5. If you could have been the original author of any book, what would it have been and why?
That’s easy, the Lord of the Rings. I am so in love with Elves and Middle Earth, (not to mention Lord Aragorn) I could easily get lost in the story and forget to return.
6. What is your favorite motivational phrase?
Having always felt different from those around me, I fell in love with a sticker I found in a store. It simply says: “You all laugh because I’m different. I laugh because you’re all the same.” Since then, I have embraced my uniqueness and pity those who feel the need to conform, because they know not what they are missing by doing so.
7. Where can you see yourself in 5 years time?
Still adding books to the Realm Jumper Chronicles and hopefully working on the paranormal series I mentioned earlier.
8. If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
Why to Middle Earth, of course. I truly believe I was born in the wrong place and time.
9. Do you have a favorite author?
I have too many to list, but one I read on a regular basis is Christine Feehan. I love her Dark series full of Carpathians.
10. What can we look forward to from you in the future?
Right now, I am working on to Companion Novellas to the Realm Jumper Chronicles. One, Dragon’s Fire, delves into Drago’s parents prior to the setting in the series. It will be part of a Dragon anthology that’s releasing July 2016. I’m also working on Mixed Blood which focuses on Valael’s parents and is also set prior to the time of the Elves on Earth. I’m hoping to have it finished and released the first of 2016.
Along with them, I am working on book four in the series, Elven Dreams, which will continue the story of the battle between Dark and Light while focusing on two more characters and the demon introduced in book three.
After that, I currently have two more books in the series planned: Elven Guardian and Essence Reborn, as well as six more Companion Novellas. That will keep me pretty busy through 2018/2019.

Raven Williams describes herself as a beautiful mess disguised as a human being. Within this beautiful mess words swirl around until they coalesce into fictional, fantasy stories or poetry for the world to read.
When Raven is not writing, she is creating art in the form of fractal designs and abstract paintings. She is also a caregiver for a disabled family member and three cats. She currently resides in the Northwest Florida Panhandle, but the Pacific Northwest is the home of her heart. She hopes to return there one day.
