Justice Labelle has lost too much in this war of monster and men, and it needs to stop now. Especially since she now has superhuman powers, all thanks to her being a Doll. Her one and only passion– To get through College and practice law at a top tier firm, is fading from her grasp and its all because of Calvin, Dante, Vampyres and the Government. In fact the government has more secrets than kids have candy… And they’re all just as deadly as the enemies they hunt. But you know what? Justice has come up with her own master plan and heaven help the Vampyre, monster or human that gets in her way!
003 004   Excerpt Before I could realize what I was doing, I had the knife in my grasp, and what I was contemplating should have made me question my sanity, but instead there was nothing. Nicolle wouldn't know. I could do it easily. She was sleeping. I could slice her throat and as the words left my lips, I was seeing it as clear as day. Seeing it like I was actually doing the actions. And then I heard a groggy voice behind me. “Hey, what are you doing up so early.” I turned quickly, startled, and stared at her, gripping the knife. Nicolle watched me, then her eyes fell to the sharp object in my hands. She entered the kitchen and jokingly asked, “Are you going to be mincing onions?” I don't know what happened next, but as Nicolle talked, telling me about her dreams last night, she was suddenly covered in blood. Her PJ's were soaked, blood was streaming from her eyes, nose, and mouth. Then, in the next second, she was normal again. I shook my head, confused by what I was seeing, and unknown to Nicolle, she kept on talking. Then it happened again, and when Nicolle came in front of me, I flinched back, contemplating stabbing her in the throat. But then, in a flash, Nicolle was normal and her brows were creased. “Are you okay?” she asked. “You’re trembling.” I placed the knife down on the counter top and took a step away from Nicolle. My eyes darted around the room, trying to rationalize. I felt dazed, confused of my thoughts and images. Were they real? I was confusing my reality with my dreams? “What are you doing with that knife?” Nicolle asked. I could see the judgment in her eyes. The accusations after what happened last year were similar. I answered quickly. “Nothing.” “Are you sure?” “Positive.” I left the kitchen, practically sprinting up the stairs, and locked myself in the bathroom. I splashed water on my face. Get a hold of yourself. What is going on with you? Lifting up my head and wiping the water away from my face, I found my reflection, staring back at a young girl that wasn't me. She looked like me, with the hair and eyes, nose and lips, but there was something different about her. I couldn't put my finger on it, but I knew deep down that the girl I was looking for was gone. I reached over the counter top, scattered with make-up, a flat iron, blow dryer, and whatever else we used to make ourselves look pretty for the outside world, for all those judging eyes. While grabbing a face towel folded neatly in a basket, I spotted a pair of shears. Grabbing the soft, white towel, I dried my face and placed the towel on the counter top. I collected my hair, resting down against my back, and pulled it into a ponytail. I picked up the shears and cut my hair at the base above the hair tie. Then I stared at it in my hands. I stared at the hair that was once connected to my body, that had grown from me, and now it had been severed. Gone. Disconnected, just like that, in the blink of an eye. I glanced at my reflection. I watched the girl place the clump of hair down on the countertop as she pulled out the hair tie, letting her hair fall, hovering above her shoulders. I lifted my hands, running my fingers through the hair. Did she like it? Did I like it? She smiled, and I turned away from the girl, stripping naked, and turned on the shower.   Image6summary001

Justice Labelle always had her life perfectly planned.

Her goals were to graduate from University and get into law school.

Then one day, Justice tried to kill herself.

Well, not her technically. It may have been her body, but those actions weren’t intentional and the suicidal thoughts were not hers. Or, so she keeps telling her therapist and family. Justice is afraid she’s losing her mind and just wants to forget everything. But when her best friend is murdered, another one is being mind-screwed by a Vampyre, and her ex is back in town, looking as scrumptious as ever and very suspicious, maybe she isn’t all that crazy!
